Calling all churchgoers in Lisbon and Mount Vernon, Iowa. We are living at a time when current issues, social media, and busy lives drive us toward tribalism, division, and isolation. Is there hope for anything different? Yes!

Jesus prayed for His followers then and now in John 17:21  “My prayer is …. that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me” (NIV). Jesus' people can share their faith in Him and spread His love and hope to one another and the world by coming together to celebrate what God is doing, encourage one another with the truth, and pursue the unity Jesus prayed for to display to our community the goodness of God found in the person and work of Jesus Christ.

No matter where you attend church or how often, gathering to share what we are learning from the Bible and/or the teachings of our churches will encourage one another, help us all to live out what Jesus is praying for, and display Jesus's love and hope to our community. Even if you already get together with people from your church to discuss what God is teaching you, consider broadening the circle to celebrate what God is doing in His people across our various denominations and preferences.
